SPI employs the best technicians, tools, machines and processes to produce plate products to our customer's exacting specifications.

OUR PROCESSES

Capabilities run deep at Stainless Processing, Inc., where we can produce virtually anything, from any sized steel plate. We produce small, we produce large...we produce with precision!

Customer Service channels every project to the right team of experienced craftsmen, who will turn the appropriate grade and gauge of steel plate into a perfect execution of your drawing. SPI can also consult on enhancing your preliminary drawings into working, production-ready mechanicals.

SPI's production team can utilize a cutting process directed by our customers, or consult on specific projects to recommend the best process for a project's exacting specifications, including value-added finishing techniques like plasma bevel cuts and more completed in-line. An American-owned and operated company, SPI USA inventories an impressive assortment of material variety and volume. When required, we can offer mill certified Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) and NACE (MO175) material.

Depending on the finish dimensions, type, gauge and intended use, there are usually a number of ways to produce any given part or shape. Each method has its advantages, and our experienced sales team is ready to help you select the best quality, delivery and overall value cutting option for your application.

Water Jet Cutting

High-pressure water and the addition of abrasives cut a wide variety of stainless steel thicknesses with precision. Water jet cutting is often used when the materials being cut are sensitive to the high temperatures generated by other methods like plasma cutting. Water Jet cutting is most often used when the application requires less heat be applied to a part.

Plasma Cutting

The plasma cutting process that is used to cut stainless steel (and other metals) of different thicknesses utilizes a plasma torch. An electrical arc is formed through an inert gas that is focused from a nozzle to the cutting surface. The arc turns the gas into a precise plasma beam that accurately cuts through steel. As with water jet cutting, this process is completely automated and driven by the approved mechanical specification.

Stainless Processing, Inc. Plasma Cutting is the best in the industry—less top-to-bottom taper, smoother cut and tighter tolerances.

Machine Cutting

Often faster and less expensive than newer automated methods, machine cutting includes the in-line ability to drill, tap and machine all parts of a stainless steel plate. Machine cutting uses traditional, as well as cutting-edge, machine shop tools to cut stainless plate to the customer's specifications.
